Common Induction Standards

June saw the release of our new e-learning course on The Common Induction Standards.  Newly revised and updated, this essential training tool sets out the fundamentals of what care workers need to know for their role in providing care or support to individuals, in both domiciliary and residential settings.

Each Standard is dealt with in a separate unit and learners are tested at the end of the course with a formal assessment.  Make sure your staff are properly trained in these key framework principles.

NHS Continuing Healthcare

We have added a new key feature to the NHS Continuing Healthcare course in the form of a case study using the Decision Support Tool. The DST provides a framework to bring together and document the various needs in eleven 'care domains', or generic areas of need.

Understanding how to apply the Decision Support Tool is essential learning for anyone involved in the implementation of the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare. The case study provides a real-life example of the completed DST paperwork and includes specific comments by a senior professional at a leading PCT.

Mental Capacity Act 2005

The Act and its implications have generated considerable amounts of press copy and understanding its provisions is vitally important for those working in the sector. To bring these key points into sharper focus, we have now produced a series of interactive units which examine several case studies in depth in each of the areas of Mental Health, Acute Hospitals, Community and Primary Care, and Residential Settings. These MCA Specialist Units use real-life situations to bring the Act and its effects to life and are available as a separate course or as an add-on to the main Mental Capacity Act 2005 course.
